Cats. Sisters. Boxes.

Telling it to everyone. Not speaking to anyone…

Shadow, though he’s calmer these days, was never the sweetest cat anyone has ever met. He’s a beast of a cat who has a profound dislike of anything that walks on two legs.

And it’s not like he has a fondness for four-legged creatures. He has a basic dislike for other living things in general.

But he’s my sister’s cat. A last living link to Megan. And now it’s getting close to the time for him to leave.

It’s breaking my heart a bit.

We’re enjoying the fine days of fall. Flopping out in the sun pools on the kitchen floor… eating fine food… telling lies about people who aren’t here with us…

It’s been a long journey for the two of us. When he first came to live with me we hated each other. He didn’t like me just because I existed at all. I hated him because he would attack my precious Charlie and he became the target of my otherwise unfocused grief and anger.

We lived through it all and slowly became good friends. He’s warming my lap as I type this.

I miss my sister. But now the sunlight is starting to come trough the window and me & Shadow have to move back to the kitchen.

mmm… warm… warm thoughts to you… we’ll tell lies about you…
