Eight tables a battle for ultimate supremacy in a splinter-thirsty
showdown of four-legged ferociousness. Table Fights brings together
furniture makers, designers, and fine artists interested in fighting,
furniture, art, automation, and generating excitement around furniture
and Design Week. The event will be held at 5:00 p.m. on May 17th, at
the closing of day 1 of the 20th annual International Contemporary
Furniture Fair (ICFF). Gritty, absurd, and intentionally outrageous,
Table Fights promises to infuse some wildness into the New York Design
Week.

Table Fights is comprised of 8 “end tables” that will physically fight
each other through the use of robotics, remote control devices, or
automation. Two tables per match will fight within a 12′ diameter ring
with grandeur a prizefight and the chaos of a cock-fight. Announcers,
ring girls, and the Coed-Fight Club for Girls add to the melee as the
winning tables advance through a bracket style tournament until the
2008 Table Fight Champion is crowned.
