‘Yardwork’ is a series of site-specific works by seven Calgary-based artists. The installations consider the suburban backyard as a dichotomous space: being both public and private, cultivated yet self-generating. The artists explore the use and ownership of the backyard as a ‘living’ space, and its value in contemporary suburban culture.
