A knot is removed from a piece of a tree. The tree is then milled down into a plank, and the knot is affixed to the plank. An aspen branch is drilled into the wood, and its leaves replaces with faded bits of leaf-like garbage found scattered about hiking paths near Aspen, Colorado.
