WPA 2010 (burgeoning). Christopher Robbins. Bringing back the WPA (Work Projects Administration), because the US Government hasn't.
The WPA-2010 is bringing back the WPA (Work Projects Administration), because the US Government hasn't.
During the last Great Depression, the Work Projects Administration (WPA) employed millions of people through creative projects across the country. Money went directly to people who needed it, and their efforts produced some of the most important public works of the time.
In this recession, we were upset that the stimulus didn't go directly to people who needed it most. So, since the government hasn't brought the WPA back, we are!
This summer, we are opening two WPA Offices, one in Wassaic, New York, and the other in Jamaica, Queens.
We'll be talking with each community to find out what projects people want and need, and then we'll hire people to complete those projects.
This project is funded by donations from private citizens, so if you would like to support the WPA-2010, please Donate to the WPA-2010 now! All donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
